Then came Episode 2
Referenced on Korman Productions’ Deep Dive TV podcast: Earth Alive in MGM+ Deep Dive Episode 1, «Alone»; with Dave and Stacie (2024). I went into this with an open heart as a fan of the book, the first part was faintly true, it had most of the right elements. The first part was solid, because usually everything in Hollywood falls apart due to bad casting.
It usually rarely goes beyond 15 meters
And the bad casting came back with a vengeance. I often start a timer when I watch something from America, counting down to the interracial sex scenes. Some movies are 7 seconds long and you get it without any context, no connection to the story and you sit there thinking “What am I watching here?” instead of entertaining the audience they want to promote interracial relationships like the sharp and the 1950s, such a disingenuous inclusion.
And to be perfectly clear, I am African, not African American, I am African
And I find it so tiresome that I started watching movies and TV shows from the Asian market because I am tired of America pushing politics and weird things into everything that are not entertaining. entertaining series. I even watched episode 1, stating my absolute astonishment that Hollywood in America is able to produce content that for once doesn’t focus on a black woman as some kind of savior or doctor-scientist who is also a ninja assassin and can break the deadlock .
